Angus Accordion & Fiddle Festival

Welcome

Hello and welcome to the Angus Accordion & Fiddle Festival website. We hope you find it informative and we appreciate constructive comments.

The AAFF came about during a discussion between Steven Carcary and Ron Ramsay on the journey back from a hectic Shetland festival in 2001. The basis of the AAFF was formulated and the inaugural Festival took place in Arbroath in June 2003. We were astounded by the support we received from aficionados from all over Scotland. The Festival has grown over the years and we are still trying to improve. Musicians and Scottish Dance Music enthusiasts have really taken to the Festival which is non competitive and is seen as a weekend of merriment for musicians and aficionados alike. We pride ourselves in being self funding, but are always grateful to local business for support with donations and raffle prizes. The Grand dance is usually recorded and a DVD produced and sold to enthusiasts, the proceeds funding future Festivals. We are grateful to the Arbroath Improvement Trust for a grant towards the production of the DVD and also to Angus Council for providing a grant to fund the construction of this web site.
